The Del Mar Racetrack hosts a Summer Concert Series with the hottest bands and artists, as well as many exciting events, including the Gourmet Food Truck Festival and Del Mar National Horse Show in April. Del Mar Racetrack History -

Hailed as Bing's Baby, the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club opened in 1937 under the leadership of Bing Crosby, and brought horseracing to Southern California. Bing recorded the song "Where the Turf Meets the Surf" in 1938, which opened every day of racing in the early days. For decades, racing season brought crowds, Hollywood celebrities and legendary horses to Del Mar.

Since Seabiscuit won his famous race in 1938, Del Mar Racetrack has hosted the most exciting thoroughbred racing in the country. Opening day at Del Mar in 2010 drew a record crowd of 45,309 fans.
